Awards


    1.    Most Participants: Documented with an after-action report which includes a listing of names and numbers of participants             from one unit.
    2.    Most Peaks Contacted: Documented with an after-action report which includes a contact log listing names of peaks, unit             numbers/names of those contacted and times of contact.
    3.    Longest Peak-to-Peak Contact: Documented with after-action report which includes a list of peaks with lat/long                        coordinates so the distances can be easily verified. The current record is for 185 miles between Mt. Charleston in             Nevada across the desert to San Jacinto near Palm Springs. In Arizona our record was established last year for a distance             of 124 miles between Hayden Peak near Kingman to Seegmiller Mt on the AZ Strip.
    4.    Largest mirror surface: Documented with an after-action report which includes a picture and dimensions of the mirror.            A 250 Miler Award: Documented with an after action report listing all of the contacts and distances achieved.
A 500 Miler Award Documented with an after action report listing all of the contacts and distances achieved.
We might also allow a team to accumulate mileage over a number of years and offer appropriate awards for 1000 or more miles. This might serve to encourage annual participation for a team and create some interesting traditions in the unit.
